Champion Ballroom had their Holiday party last night. It was Flo, Rich, and me from the group that was there. Rich performed a salsa/mambo with Jennifer. Everyone did well. There were six individuals and a salsa dance group that performed. I was pleasantly surprised that a couple, Jim and Carol, whom I was out with on the very first night out on the town was dancing in the group. There was a gentleman there that had been on the Biggest Loser. He had lost around 150 lbs. He did great. The only bad thing about last night was the sound system was bad.
It was so nice being able to hang out with Rich. We know each other so we don't have to do the awkward conversation and signal to each other. There was more salsa the second set so we danced a lot of that. I had been struggling with my turns in class, but I was able to nail them when he led them. Ohhh, I'm going to miss him! But he does have a company here in the cities and will be able to come back and dance on occassion so I'm going to be able to dance with him again. We got comfortable enough to end our dance with a dip. Only fitting. :) We have one last good-bye hang out this week with Steve and Anna and Flo. I felt bad they weren't able to be there last night.
