When I started this blog, I wasn't sure where it was going to go. I'm finding out that I'm posting whatever is on my mind the longest and need to get it out. Today I was reading a relationship article on why a person is single. The biggest one that really stuck out to me is being too picky. The author suggested that the woman list ten top things they want in a man and then limit them to the top three. First things, first. The cliche things that women always want-kind, funny, etc are automatically out because that is just a given. Now to dig a little deeper.
1) Must look good with a 5 o'clock shadow.
2) Cooks
3) Dances
4) Have a joyous passion for something. I was watching a rerun of Chopped and this man was talking about cooking from the soul, etc. His voice was so familiar to me and then I remembered he had just recently been on the Next Food Network Star show. He just had so much fun energy that you can't help be caught up in the moment.
5) Must be willing to be okay not wanting kids-my mind goes back and forth-but mainly I'm not the mothering type except with my niece and nephews.
6) Outgoing-I'm quiet and a homebody. I need someone to get me out of the house on occasion.
7) I'm getting into the bald, tattoo looks now.
8) Lets me hold the remote control.
9) Animal lover.
10) ???
Once you take out the cliches, its a little bit hard to come up with stuff. I thought I would have a lot longer list, but it helps to put things in prospective like this. I'm anxious to have a relationship. At my age, the longer I wait, the harder it is for someone to become part of my life.
Another thing that the article pointed out was having a negative view on men. For a long time, I had a negative view and even was torn to become a nun at times even though I wasn't Catholic. I know there are good guys out there and the men in my small groups have been helpful. Even my brother Levi's close friends help look at men in a better light which is weird because they are a pretty rough bunch, but will stick close in rough times and you can always count on them.
