Yes, I finally caved in and went to the movie with my friend Stacie. I needed to see it before the Oscars so I could be more informed about it. I'm SOOO glad I did. I was able to separate him and his character so I wasn't too shocked by anything. Wall Street people are dirty minded. You can't be offended by anything going into the movie. One has to remember that this really happened to a real person. I loved that Rob Reiner was in the movie. I didn't catch that he was playing Leonardo's dad in the movie. I was, um, distracted, most of the time.
There was one scene in the movie where he finds out about a new phase of being drug induced and it was the "cerebral palsy" stage. I started crying because of what he could physically do with his body and so proud of him for never having done drugs to really feel the sensation of it.
After all the swearing and sex scenes, Stacie and I thought that the worst scene was when they were in a boat and going through some huge waves.
How could a woman say "stop flexing your muscles" to him? I could never do it! Lol. He has a very nice bum and chest and wouldn't mind going to see the movie a second time just for those as well as his dancing. I would have been out on the dance floor with him.
Three hours is a long time not to go to the bathroom. There was just so much detail in the movie that you couldn't get up and leave.
Leonardo, please do an audio book! Preferably fiction. Sigh.
Scorsese, once again you helped me make me love Leonardo even more as an actor!
