I lost my job at the auto collision place, but really it was just a stepping stone back into the work place again. I got a job a week later at a fire safety company that is in the construction company. They're a fairly new division in the existing company and the executive assistant needed help because she was working a lot of over time. It's a temp to hire position and hopefully the four months go by fast. So far, it has proven to go by fairly quickly. At the end of the first week, I had had the best sleep in about ten years and kept steadily busy throughout the days.
Their sense of humor is fun. One of the newer guys was having an issue and for the first time in a long time he wanted to drink on a Monday, but another guy chimed in and said that we should try to get him to drink before noon. All in fun. I was wondering about labels and I asked my trainer about it and she said that it's really nothing to worry about-there are more important things like lunch to think about. So far it's not particularly complicated, but there is enough to make your brain think without getting too stressed out about it.
People are just busy and working hard. I can leave work at work. Sometimes I want another "Faron" someone I can talk to without fear at work, but other times I don't want to get attached. I never really had that before I met him in work or even personal life. I need to keep a healthy balance. So far being a temp is helping with that because I don't want to get to know people and sometime down the road I'm let go again. I REALLY hope this isn't the case.
Starting this week I'm going to be really busy. Tuesdays are small group and dance class on Thursday and Friday maybe a St. Anthony Main ghost walk tour. It's so good to have a balance in my life again. I just want to be able to have an attitude of being okay with where I am at for a while and not having to stress out about things such as rent and bills and wondering if I will ever meet someone.
It's so nice to finally have a busy, happy work place to give me faith that there are places like that still out there.
